INTERIOR DESIGN GRADUATE NAMED ONE OF NATION’S BEST IN HOSPITALITY FIELD

Hallie Henley, a 2006 University of Oklahoma Interior Design graduate, was named one of 18 talented up and coming designers by the Boutique Design magazine.  The Boutique 18 award is given to individuals who work in the hospitality field and show great potential early in their interior design career. Henley was one of the 18 to have been selected from 100 candidates across the US.
“I was so excited when I heard that I had been selected!” said Henley. “It definitely reaffirms that I’m in the right profession.” The Boutique 18 recognition comes to Henley just three years after graduating with a bachelor’s from the Interior Design division of the College of Architecture. Abimbola Asojo, director of the Interior Design division at the College of Architecture referred to Henley as “creative, hardworking and very well-rounded.”
The Interior Design division aims to provide professional undergraduate education in interior design within a collaborative, multidisciplinary learning environment. “Hallie is proof of the very well-rounded interior design degree we provide to our students.”
Henley is now in Texas doing hospitality work with Design Duncan Miller Ullmann, who nominated her for this award. She began working here after attending Savannah College of Art and Design for her master’s degree. “My education at OU and specifically my time at the Interior Design division gave me an excellent educational foundation which has truly helped me in my career,” says Henley.
For the past four years, Boutique Design magazine has recognized students for their innovative and unique designs.  For more information about Boutique Design magazine and the Boutique 18, visit http://www.boutiquedesign.com.
