2009 AUGUST TRIP TO CHINA TRAVEL COURSE

Given China's rich and long history and its remarkable modern economic development over the past 30 years, I believe you will find it life-changing to have a short study trip in China led by OU faculty Dr.Shen.

This 12-Day China Trip  (August 4 or 6 to August 15 or 17, 2009) will visit 6 major Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Wuxi. The estimated total cost is about $3,295 which pays for:

(a). Round-trip international air tickets between USA (OKC/DFW) and China (PEK/PVG) (b). Buffet breakfast at hotels and banquet-style lunch and dinner per day (c). 4- or 5-star full service hotel (double occupancy) (d). Air and ground transportation and transfers in China (e). Tickets to major historical and modern attractions (f). Faculty and professional travel guide services (g). 3 credits (letter graded) OU in-state tuition and fees for all students

You can register ARCH4970, which can be used for OU General Education (Non-Western Culture) or upper division elective course credits. Graduates can register RCPL5990. The travel course has no pre-requisite and is open to all majors. The course requires (1) participation of trip activities, (2) a travel journal from your trip observations, and (3) a term paper on a relevant topic of your interest. The travel journal and the paper are due one month after we return from the trip.
